On 22.06.2022, the Federal Council decided to lift the ban on using cannabis for medical purposes. This means simplified access for patients, as an exceptional permit from the Federal Office of Public Health will no longer be required for medical prescriptions. Pharmacies will also no longer require an exceptional authorization from the FOPH, and cannabis products and preparations containing THC can now be dispensed with a narcotic prescription from a doctor in every pharmacy.
In addition, it will be possible to export THC-containing cannabis products for medical purposes.
